This comes in the life of every one.... Net Addiction. At some stage, every one becomes net addicted. Some stay there, some come back and some sink further and farther.
To come back requires a strong self discipline. In my case, I have defined some specific hours and some specific targets (e.g reading a specific number of articles, certain actions for blog promotion etc). I normally remain within that limit.
But not many people have that type of self discipline or control when it comes to net surfing. That being the case, one can invent certain tricks that FORCE the person to restrict net time. For example, this lady from Egypt get a cheap internet package on a fairly basic pre-owned mobile phone (a Nokia 2330 which has Opera Lite on it and is definitely not a smartphone of any sort 'Crackberry' as referred usually) - so for around $3.50 per month, it's just about handy enough to check Facebook and her most important email addresses (she has a LOT) and read new posts on various forums, but is not convenient enough (given the phone!) to type anything but the most pressing comments, posts or whatever.
It has really helped her - she saves a couple of hours of random surfing.
You can also try to have 2 days a week completely offline, like I do. Not always easy or possible depending what's going on.
So, pick the best day to do it, close down your internet computer the night before around bedtime, and don't put it on until the whole of the DAY OFF has rolled around and it's the day after that. For the first time you do it, it's probably easier if you pick a DAY OFF where you know you will be out most of the day and preferably won't be coming home until night-time otherwise it will be giving out it's siren call all day long.
